AGILE

(Italian space gamma-ray observatory)
AGILE (for Astro-Rivelatore Gamma a Immagini Leggero)
is a gamma-ray space observatory that began operation
in 2007, run by the Italian Space Agency (ASI) and operated until it
reentered the atmosphere in February 2024.
Instruments include:
- GRID - Gamma Ray Imaging Detector.
- SA - SuperAGILE hard X-ray monitor.
- MCAL - Mini-calorimeter gamma-ray scintillation detector.
- AC - Anti-coincidence system, for suppressing unwanted detections.
