ASTRO (for Autonomous Space Transport Robotic Operations) was a 2007 DARPA satellite which tested the concept of using robotics (i.e., a non-manned spacecraft) to service and refuel a satellite in orbit. ASTRO exchanged parts and loaded fuel in NEXTSat, a test satellite launched for the test. The two-satellite mission was called Orbital Express. The test was carried out and the satellites were decommissioned in 2007. ASTRO reentered the atmosphere in 2013.
