The term **Athena** has more than one use in astronomy:

- A magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) code developed at Princeton University.
- A code for second-order correlation functions (N-point functions), e.g., to analyze observed galaxy distributions in search of instances of gravitational lensing.
- A planned ESA X-ray-telescope space mission aimed at a 2031 launch (
**ATHENA**, for**Advanced Telescope for High Energy Astrophysics**).
