Combined Array for Research in Millimeter-wave Astronomy

(CARMA)
(array of radio telescopes in eastern California)

The Combined Array for Research in Millimeter-wave Astronomy (CARMA) was an interferometer array of 23 radio telescopes at Cedar Flat in the Inyo Mountains, California. Some of the telescopes were transferred from other sites. Separation was up to 2 km. CARMA was in operation from 2004 to 2015.

ALMA is the newer, similar array with improved capability.
