The Cosmic Background Imager (CBI) was a microwave telescope at the Llano de Chajnantor Observatory in the Atacama Desert in Chile, aimed at studying the cosmic microwave background (CMB). It was an interferometer with thirteen antennas in a close-packed array. It was in operation from 1999 to 2008.
