infrared cirrus
(cirrus, galactic cirrus, ISM cirrus)
(cirrus-cloud-like infrared emissions from dust, etc.)
Infrared cirrus (or galactic cirrus or ISM cirrus or
just cirrus)
is used for cirrus-cloud-like patterns seen in the interstellar medium (ISM),
particularly in the infrared.
They are the product of dust
and nebulae. They present a challenge to infrared and
millimeter astronomy, as a source of confusion.
