Coronal Solar Magnetism Observatory

(COSMO)
(proposed solar observatory)

Coronal Solar Magnetism Observatory (COSMO) is a proposed observatory in Hawaii at the High Altitude Observatory (HAO), to track solar events. Instruments:

Each is a polarimeter for studying the Sun's ever-changing magneticfield, each focused on its own set of frequencies matching specific spectral lines, for observing observe different layers of the solar atmosphere, and each with cadences designed for observing certain kinds of solar activity. As of 2024, K-Cor is completed and in operation at MLSO and ChroMag and LC are in development.
