The Caltech Submillimeter Observatory (CSO) was a 10.4 meter submillimeter telescope at Mauna Kea Observatories (MKO), Mauna Kea, Hawaii. The telescope was built in 1985, operating until 2015 when its operation was ended, part of a deal to allow the Thirty Meter Telescope to be built at MKO. As of February, 2024, the telescope has been dismantled, with plans to reassemble it at the Llano de Chajnantor Observatory, the moved/rebuilt telescope to be rename the Leighton Chajnantor Telescope (LCT). Presumably the list of instruments will differ if/when the move is completed. One plan includes hosting the Tomographic Ionized-carbon Mapping Experiment (TIME). Some earlier CSO instruments:
