The Lowell Discovery Telescope (LDT, formerly the Discovery Channel Telescope, DCT) is a 4.3-meter optical/near-infrared telescope at Happy Jack, Arizona, operated by Lowell Observatory. It was partially funded by the Discovery Channel, thus the name. The telescope site is 40 miles from Flagstaff, at a dark-sky site in Coconino National Forest, and is at an elevation of 2360 meters. Its first light was in 2012. Instruments:

It was earlier announced that NEWS (Near-infrared Echelle for Wide-band spectroscopy) would be on the LDT but I have seen no recent references.
