FIRST (for Faint Images of the Radio Sky at Twenty-centimeters)
was a Very Large Array (VLA) radio survey
carried out in the 1990s,
of 10,575 square degrees covering the north and south galactic
caps. New releases of the resulting catalog have
been published more recently.
