(early 2000s space telescope for short-wavelength ultraviolet)
Far Ultraviolet Spectroscopic Explorer (FUSE)
was a NASAMedium-class Explorer Program (MIDEX)
space-based telescope for far ultravioletspectrography,
launched in 1999 into Earth orbit and operated until 2007.
Though it is not in use, I believe it is still in orbit.
Among its goals were determination of the
deuterium present in the universe through its history.
