The Ground-Base Electro-Optical Deep Space Surveillance
(GEODSS) is US Air Force organization/initiative to
track artificial satellites and other spacecraft, including
abandoned equipment, etc. (space junk).
It monitors a shell around Earth beginning about
3000 miles above the surface, and extending beyond
geosynchronous orbit distance.
It operates telescopes at three sites.
