GLARE
(Gemini Lyman Alpha at Reionisation Era)
(project to search for distant star-forming galaxies)
The GLARE project (for Gemini Lyman Alpha at Reionisation Era project)
was an astronomical survey that was a spectrographic
follow-up to the Hubble Ultra-Deep Field (HUDF) survey, aiming to identify high-redshift
galaxies (epoch of reionization) that are Lyman-alpha emitters (LAEs).
It was carried out in the early 2000s using the GMOS spectrograph
on Gemini South.
Targets in additional survey fields surrounding the HUDF were
also observed.
