I Zwicky 18

(I Zw 18, Zw I 18)
(blue compact galaxy with low metallicity)

I Zwicky 18 (I Zw 18) is a blue compact galaxy (i.e., with star formation) with very low metallicity. Metallicity is so low that it is presumed to include and form Population III stars. The low metallicity and early stars also made astronomers assume the galaxy was very young, but eventually older stars were discovered.
