Liverpool Telescope

(LT)
(2-meter robotic telescope in Spain)

The Liverpool Telescope (LT) is a 2-meter robotic reflector telescope located at Roque de los Muchachos Observatory (ORM), owned and operated by the Liverpool John Moores University, of Liverpool, England. The telescope has somewhat open access to requests for observation, automatically choosing among proposals nightly and performing the observations automatically. During such observations, it also responds to real-time alerts of some types of transients, interrupting the night's observation to attempt to catch an optical counterpart or the beginning of a light curve. Instruments:

Co-mounted in the enclosure is SkyCam, an all-sky camera with a 180° field of view. Previously listed instruments:

The New Robotic Telescope (NRT, aka the Liverpool Telescope 2, LT2) is an analogous 4-meter telescope in development at the same observatory, planned for the 2020s.
