Lynx
(Lynx X-ray Observatory, X-ray Surveyor)
(concept for space X-ray observatory)
Lynx (or Lynx X-ray Observatory, earlier X-ray Surveyor)
is a NASA plan in the conceptual stages for a future
X-ray telescope spacecraft, as a major program
(Large Strategic Science Mission aka Flagship Mission)
for launch in the 2030s.
The plan is for a 3-meter Wolter telescope with a 10-meter
focal length deployed at Lagrangian point L2.
The aim is 50 times the sensitivity as Chandra X-ray Observatory,
an angular resolution of 0.5 arcseconds and
a spectral resolution with R at least 5,000.
