The term magnetic tower has been used for a length of magnetic field lines twisted due to the rotation of magnetic field. The motivating case is such a configuration extending along the rotation axis of an accretion disk, such as that of a black hole or young stellar object. Such magnetic towers are presumed to be a factor in the production of jets.
