The Morphological Catalogue of Galaxies
(or "catalog", abbreviated MCG)
is a Russian catalog of 30,000+ galaxies
assembled in the 1960s-1970s, from inspection
of the plates of the Palomar Observatory Sky Survey (POSS)
carried out in the 1950s.
The goal was every galaxy of magnitude
15 or brighter.
