(mission to Mars with two rovers)
Mars Exploration Rover (MER) was a
NASA mission to Mars with two
rovers, MER-A, aka Spirit and
MER-B, aka Opportunity.
They landed on Mars in 2004, Spirit active
until 2010 and Opportunity active until 2018.
Instruments on each:
- Pancam - panoramic camera.
- Navcam - navigation camera.
- Mini-TES - "Miniature Thermal Emission Spectrometer".
- MIMOS II - Mössbauer spectrometer.
- APXS - Alpha particle X-ray spectrometer.
- MI - microscopic imager.
- RAT - rock abrasion tool.
