An N galaxy is a galaxy with a bright nucleus with faint red surroundings. The term N galaxy is from the Morgan classification, an alternative galaxy classification to Hubble's.

The term N galaxy refers to its appearance. They are generally elliptical galaxies with active galactic nuclei.
