The NGC 3132 (the Eight-Burst Nebula,
aka the Southern Ring Nebula, aka Caldwell 74)
is a planetary nebula (in the constellation Vela)
which is of research interest.
The nickname, Eight-Burst is reported to be due to its resemblance
to the numeral, "8".
