pair telescope

(telescope that detects gamma rays via pair production)

The term pair telescope refers to a gamma-ray telescope aimed at detecting high-energy photons that result in pair production in a scintillator. This requires a photon-energy of at least 1 MeV but practically speaking, 30 MeV is the point where pair production predominates.
