PALFA (Arecibo Pulsar ALFA Survey)
is a radio survey begun in 2004
to locate pulsars
using the ALFA instrument on Arecibo Observatory.
As of 2019 it has discovered 192 pulsars.
It is also suitable for capturing fast radio bursts
and has been adapted to locate such transients.
