PAndAS
(Pan-Andromeda Archaeological Survey)
(survey of M31 and M33)
PAndAS was an astronomical survey of
Andromeda (M31) and the Triangulum Galaxy (M33) using the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope (CFHT),
carried out in the 2008-2012 time frame.
The goal was more detail about the structure
of the two galaxies and their dwarf
satellite galaxy companions
for clues to their formation (hence the term "archaeological").
They were chosen as the closest
sizable galaxies for which we have
a full/external view.
