Q band
(name for EMR frequency-range on the order of 45 GHz)
The term Q band is sometimes used for radio (microwave) bands in the
vicinity of 45 GHz. The name is not defined by the ITU or IEEE but
does have a ISO definition as 36-46 GHz and the term is used
within radio astronomy for bands and receivers in that
general range. Example Q band specifications of some
radio-telescope receivers:
The term Q band is also used within infrared astronomy
for a mid infrared passband at 21 μm.
