REFINE (for Redshift Evolution and Formation in Extragalactic Systems) is a catalog (sample set) of 350,000 galaxies, extending out to redshift 3.5, for the purposes of the study of galaxy evolution through determination of the galaxy mergers rates implied by the statistics. The sample and data is selected from a number of existing surveys, and has been used in subsequent studies.
