SHARDS (for Survey for High-z Absorption Red & Dead Sources)
was a survey of the
GOODS-North survey field for
red and dead galaxies
in the redshift range of z = 1 to 2.6,
carried out in 2010-2012 using
the Gran Telescopio Canarias's OSIRIS instrument,
identifying targets using photometry
and following up with spectrography.
