SN 185
(supernova recorded in China in AD 185)
SN 185 is a supernova noted by astronomers in China in AD 185.
Based upon descriptions of SN 185's position, its associated supernova remnant
is SNR G315.0-02.3, which was cataloged in 1960 as
HII region RCW 86,
and has since been studied as an accessible example SN remnant.
Current research suggests it is the remnant of a Type Ia supernova.
