SPIRou (for Spectropolarimètre infrarouge) is a near infrared spectrograph/polarimeter (spectropolarimeter) on the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope (CFHT) for radial velocity measurements to detect and investigate extra-solar planets. The SPIRou Legacy Survey (SLS) is an astronomical survey aiming make use of considerable SPIRou time to check nearby M dwarfs for RV measurements indicating planets, to follow up on TOIs, and to collect data on magnetic fields of protostars for learning more about their contribution to planet formation.
