Suzaku (formerly ASTRO-EII) was an X-ray observing satellite operated by NASA and Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) from its 2005 launch until 2015 when communication became unstable and it was switched off, easily exceeding its 2-year primary mission and exceeding its designed lifetime of 8 years.
