SWMF

(Space Weather Modeling Framework)
(software package of tools for modeling space weather)

SWMF (for Space Weather Modeling Framework) is a software package with tools for modeling space weather, including AWSoM (for Alfven Wave Solar Atmosphere Model) and magnetohydrodynamics code termed BATSRUS (aka BATS-R-US, for Block-Adaptive-Tree-Solarwind-Roe-Upwind-Scheme). Full SWMF is not open-source, but a subset of it is, which is named MSTEM-QUDA (for Michigan Sun-to-Earth Model with Quantified Uncertainty and Data Assimilation). Though SWMF is designed to model the Sun and solar system, it has been used for similar modeling related to other stars.
