Buying Contradance Music CDs

If you want to buy a CD with contradance-type music, all you need to do is go to the "Contradance" section of your favorite CD store. It would be between the "Old Time" section and the "Québécois" section, of course.

More realistically, you can visit a dance weekend that includes vendors, or you can visit the website of one of the businesses/organizations/non-organizations that sell Contradance Music CDs online (be sure to visit Great Meadow Music which does more than this site: has CDs you can buy ) or you can visit the website of one of the bands or musicians of Contradance-music that sell their own CDs online.

This site is to assist, with links to band and musician websites that sell their own CDs online. This is a "virtual" Contradance section, to be used your favorite CD store lacks one.

The criteria for inclusion is that the site represent a band or musician that plays for contradances, and that the site include information for ordering the band or musician's CD that includes contradance-type music. If you have or know of a site that fits this criteria, by all means, let me know, at jwobus1@twcny.rr.com. I have begun with some of the bands/musicians that come to mind: bands I know or have known, bands that play for dances that I frequent, bands that I have heard about, etc. Undoubtedly, I have a long way to go to cover much of the ground.
