Achernar

Achernar (Alpha Eridani) is the ninth-brightest star in the sky,
a bright blue variable B-type star in the southern sky.
It is a Be star, with a rotation period of roughly two days
at most, which considerably flattens it.
It has an A-type binary companion orbiting at about 7 AU.
