APM Galaxy Survey
(APMUKS)
(1990s survey of galaxies in southern sky)
The APM Galaxy Survey is a survey
of 2 million galaxies compiled through use of the Cambridge Automated Plate Measuring Machine (APM)
on plates from the UK Schmidt Survey,
created by UK Schmidt Telescope (UKST) observations before and during the 1980s.
The survey covers 4300 square degrees, is magnitude-limited,
and was a primary resource regarding the southern sky for years.
