APM Galaxy Survey

(APMUKS)
(1990s survey of galaxies in southern sky)

The APM Galaxy Survey is a survey of 2 million galaxies compiled using the Cambridge Automated Plate Measuring Machine (APM) on plates from the UK Schmidt Survey, which was performed on the UK Schmidt Telescope (UKST) in the 1980s. The survey covers 4300 square degrees, is magnitude-limited, and was a primary resource regarding the southern sky for years.
