astropy is a Python package providing tools for astronomical/astrophysical analysis. It includes basic functions such as handling FITS file formats, coordinate transformations, and unit conversions as well as some basic statistical functions. A number of astrophysics Python packages that can be used with it are designated as astropy affiliates.
