Cosmic Assembly Near-infrared Deep Extragalactic Legacy Survey
(CANDELS)
(early-universe survey by HST)
The Cosmic Assembly Near-infrared Deep Extragalactic Legacy Survey
(CANDELS) was a survey in the near infrared
of high-redshift galaxies and Type Ia supernovae.
It used the HST's WFC3 sensor for near infrared
as well as its optical ACS camera.
Data was gathered on many early galaxies and supernovae,
for investigating the shape of space, i.e., degree
of expansion as well as map the density variations.
