methylidyne
(CH, C-H, [CH], carbyne, hydridocarbon, methyladyne)
(compound of one carbon and one hydrogen atom)
Methylidyne (CH) is a compound of one carbon and one hydrogen
atom. It is highly reactive, but exists in gas form
in the interstellar medium, and can be identified
through spectroscopy.
A CH star is a star with strong
CH-absorption bands.
They are often members of binaries.
