Fenton Hill Observatory

(FHO)
(New Mexico GRB-oriented astronomical observatory)

Fenton Hill Observatory (sometimes abbreviated FHO) is an astronomical observatory near Los Alamos, New Mexico, which is oriented toward the study of gamma-ray bursts (GRBs). The observatory is a Los Alamos National Laboratory function: the Los Alamos lab was the discoverer of GRBs (through data from Vela satellites). The observatory has hosted the optical telescopes REACT, ROTSE (now retired), and RAPTOR, all three being automated telescopes, aiming to catch any optical counterparts of GRBs discovered by satellite. Milagro (now retired) was a GRB/cosmic ray detector.
