4MOST

4MOST (for 4-metre Multi-object Spectroscopic Telescope)
is an fiber-fed optical multi-object spectrograph planned for
VISTA to replace its current camera.
It intends to simultaneously obtain spectra for
2400 objects over a 4 square degree field.
Construction is in progress and operation is expected in 2024.
