GG Tau
(GG Tauri)
(much-studied quadruple star system)
GG Tau (or GG Tauri) is a star system combining a number
of characteristics that make it useful for study.
It is a quadruple system made up of two binary stars,
and for being binaries, more accurate mass estimates
can be made than otherwise.
It includes a T-Tauri star, and the entire system
is surrounded by a massive circumstellar disk.
Being close enough for good observation,
it is of interest regarding planet formation
theories and study.
Characteristics of GG Tau A:
(star,binary star,disk,PMS star,TTS,variable star)
