HD 80606 b
(Struve 1341 B b, HIP 45982 b)
(hot Jupiter discovered in 2001)
HD 80606 b is a transiting hot Jupiter orbiting
a G-type star star (0.9 solar masses) in a 111-day orbit.
It was discovered by the radial velocity method in 2001
and in 2011, a transit was identified.
Its orbit has a high eccentricity, 0.9336,
varying from 0.03 to 0.88 AU.
Due to the two types of observation
and its high eccentricity, it is of interest for
further study, e.g., determining characteristics of its atmosphere
using its light curve.
