HD 80606 b
(Struve 1341 B b, HIP 45982 b)
(hot jupiter discovered in 2001)
HD 80606 b is a transiting hot jupiter orbiting
a G-type star star (0.9 solar masses) in a 111-day orbit.
It was discovered by the radial velocity method,
A transit was identified in 2011.
Its orbit has a high eccentricity, .9336, varying
from 0.03 to 0.88 AU. Due to the two types of observation
and its high eccentricity, it is of interest for
further study, e.g., its light curve to determine
characteristics of its atmosphere.
