(spectroscopic parameters for modeling atmospheric optics)

HITRAN is a database of spectroscopic parameters representing the effect of Earth atmosphere's molecules on the absorption and transmission of EMR. It is used in computer models for climate, etc. It was developed in the late 1960s and has been updated a number of times, including 1986, 1991, 1992, 1996, 1998, 2000, 2001, 2004, 2008, 2012, and 2016.
