HITEMP is a database of spectroscopic parameters representing the effect of gases on the absorption and transmission of EMR at 1000 K temperatures and greater, which has uses in astrophysics such as the analysis of stars. It is analogous to HITRAN, which does the same for Earth surface temperatures. HITEMP handles a few compounds of wide interest (e.g., water, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide), likely because the potential relevant data is so extensive, and perhaps the challenge of acquiring/developing the data. The latest HITEMP edition is dated 2010.
