### MITgcm

**(MIT General Circulation Model)**
(well-known general circulation model)

**MITgcm** (**MIT General Circulation Model**)
is a general circulation model developed by MIT,
used for Earth atmosphere and ocean modeling.
It uses the finite volume method (FVM),
a method analogous to the finite difference method
for solving differential equations.

**SPARC-MITgcm** is MITgcm incorporating the **SPARC**
(**Substellar and Planetary Atmospheric Radiation and Circulation**)
three dimensional model which includes a wavelength-aware radiative transfer model.
