Molecular Deep Field

(survey of molecular lines in Hubble Deep Field)

The term Molecular Deep Field has been used for an effort to map spectral lines deep (redshifted) in the Hubble Deep Field, that indicate molecular gas (carbon monoxide emission lines), thus star formation. This reveals history of the star formation rate.

The term molecular deep field is also used generically, for similar efforts with various deep fields.
