PHIBSS
(Plateau de Bure High-z Blue Sequence Survey, PHIBSS1)
(survey of CO in distant galaxies)
PHIBSS (Plateau de Bure High-z Blue Sequence Survey)
was a survey managed/coordinated by Institut de radioastronomie millimétrique (IRAM),
to study star formation and gas fractions,
specifically carbon monoxide, of galaxies
in the z=1 to z=3 range.
It produced to produce high-resolution maps of
galaxies in the star formation main sequence
with both optical and millimeter images.
Observations were carried out on the Plateau de Bure Interferometer (PdBI) from
2008 to 2012 and various results were published
beginning in 2009.
PHIBSS2 is a successor covering more survey fields
and redshifts, its observations carried out on the Northern Extended Millimeter Array
(NOEMA, the upgraded PdBI) from 2014 to 2017.
