Reference Catalogue of Bright Galaxies

The Reference Catalogue of Bright Galaxies (RC or RC1) is a
Harvard-produced catalog of 2500 nearby galaxies,
published in 1964.
The galaxies were generally previously known,
the catalog including up-to-date data.
Follow-ons were the
Second Reference Catalogue of Bright Galaxies (RC2, 1976, 4300 galaxies)
Third Reference Catalogue of Bright Galaxies (RC3, 1991, 23000 galaxies).
