The Shapley-Ames Catalog
(Shapley-Ames Catalog of Bright Galaxies, SAC)
is a 1932 catalog of nearby galaxies
listed in the New General Catalogue (NGC) or the Index Catalog (IC), that incorporates newer data.
Catalogs since have further expanded the list and further updated the data,
among them, the Reference Catalogue of Bright Galaxies (and its revisions)
and the Revised Shapley-Ames Catalog (RSA) of 1981.
