The Shapley-Ames Catalog
(Shapley-Ames Catalog of Bright Galaxies, SAC)
is a 1932 catalog of nearby galaxies
found in New General Catalogue and Index Catalog, containing up-to-date data.
Newer catalogs have updated the data and expanded the list,
among them, the Reference Catalogue of Bright Galaxies (and its revisions)
and the Revised Shapley-Ames Catalog (RSA) of 1981.
