SMSS J2003-1142
(J200322.54-114203.3, SMSS 2003-1142)
(unusual giant star in Milky Way halo)
SMSS J2003-1142 is a giant chemically peculiar star, having a
very low metallicity but including r-process elements.
This implies it formed from a cloud of material that is
little-processed, but the processing included some type of event
that hosted the r-process, making the star of research interest.
