Swope Supernova Survey
(survey of low-redshift Type Ia SN lightcurves)
The Swope Supernova Survey (SSS) is
a survey of near-redshift (z<0.1)
Type Ia supernovae
to acquire photometric light curves, using the
Swope Telescope and du Pont Telescope
at Las Campanas Observatory in Chile.
These are follow-up observations to known supernova,
among them, those discovered by QUEST.
An aim is to provide data on a number of such SN for studies
and analysis, such as calibrating wider SN surveys.
The survey provided images in which the optical counterpart
to GW170817 was identified.
